How To Clean French Doors
We love French doors here at Roundbrand. They have a delightful charm and a quintessentially ‘European’ aesthetic and thanks to their wide glazing areas, are perfect for brightening up a house. Like all windows though, they do occasionally require cleaning, but what’s the best way to do it?
Thankfully, it’s very easy to clean French doors. You don’t need any specialist equipment or expertise, just a bucket of warm soapy water, a sponge, a squeegee and a spare afternoon. Give the doors a good scrub with the sponge and warm water, then rinse them off with the hose. Finish up by using the squeegee on the glass to remove as much of the water as possible and that’s all there is to it. Unless you encounter any overly stubborn stains, cleaning French doors only takes about half an hour or so.
That aside, the only other thing we’d suggest is don’t do it on a sunny day. That might sound counterintuitive, but if it’s very bright and hot, the water dries quickly and can leave marks on the glass. Doing it on a dry, cloudy day is the best approach.
French doors are a comparatively low-maintenance installation and are perfect for enhancing a house. If you’re interested in designing and installing new French doors, get in touch with Roundbrand today. We can’t wait to work with you.
