Why You Should Install A New Conservatory Roof

Have you ever wanted to relax in your conservatory on a warm summer day, but after a few minutes had to give up because it was too hot? Or maybe you’ve wanted to enjoy Christmas lunch in your conservatory but it got so cold you had to abandon the idea? Conservatories are terrific, but they can get uncomfortable if the weather isn’t kind. Replacing the roof might be the answer.

The classic conservatory roof is typically made of glass, but while these look beautiful they can make it difficult to get a comfortable temperature. Traditional conservatories – especially the older ones – can get unbearably stuffy in summer and freezing cold in winter, but a new roof makes a dramatic difference.

Modern conservatory roofs have benefitted from decades of technological developments. They’re more thermally efficient and make it far easier to manage the internal temperature. Solid and tiled conservatory roofs have a striking aesthetic and are perfect for modernising your extension and can be fitted with glass panels or roof windows so you still get plenty of natural light. If you’d prefer to keep the classic look though, today’s glass roofs are excellent too. Their construction methods have been modernised, and their heat-retention properties have improved so it’s now possible to get an older-style conservatory roof that performs like a contemporary one.

For these reasons, we’d highly recommend getting a new roof fitted to your extension. If your conservatory is cracked or damaged, you’ve noticed any draughts or it simply isn’t comfortable to sit in most of the time, contact us today. We can’t wait to work with you.
